The bulk of knitted products is greater with wool. Bulk contributes to the feeling of warmth – both to the touch as well as to the resistance of heat loss and enhances the perception of softer handle.

Superior shape retention of knitted garments. This can be explained by the stress strain properties of wool whereby for a given extension, the elastic recovery properties of wool are superior to those of cotton.
